New scam
In the 25000 block of Madison a report was made recently about two men posing as utility workers who scammed a resident out of about $200. An unknown male approached the victims home stating he was a utility worker and needed to put a pole in her backyard. He then tried the scam by telling her she had over paid on her last bill by $20. He wanted her to give him $100 and he would give her $80 back. She said she didn’t want to do that, for him to just take $20 off her next bill. He then told her he needed to see her backyard to discuss where they were going to put the new pole. While they were in her backyard another unknown male entered her home from the front and went through her back bedroom. When she came back into the house she noticed the other male, she then felt something wasn’t right and kicked them both out of the house but after they had stolen $200 from her bedroom drawer. She didn’t see any vehicle and stated they had no picture I.D. If there is any question the person is working for an utility company ask for I.D. and if there is still any question call the police, we would really like to catch these guys!
